Dial thermometers

Dial thermometers with scale ranges from -200 to +700 °C
Our dial thermometers work on the bimetal, expansion or gas actuation principle. This enables scale ranges of -200 to +700 °C in different class accuracies, response times and resilience to environmental influences. Diverse connection designs, stem diameters and individual stem lengths enable a flexible measuring location design. Dial thermometers with remote capillaries are particularly versatile. All thermometers are suited for operation in a thermowell if necessary.

Thermocouples

Thermocouples for temperature measurement up to 1,700 °C
Thermocouples are temperature sensors that generate a voltage directly dependent on temperature. Compared to resistance thermometers, they are particularly suited for high temperatures up to 1,700 °C. Instrument designs from mineral-insulated sheathed cable are very resistant against extremely high vibration loads (depending on instrument model, sensor element and wetted materials). The accuracy classes 1 and 2 apply for thermocouples in accordance with IEC 60584 as well as the standard and special classes in accordance with ASTM E230.

Model TC10-0

Thermocouples in this series can be combined with a large number of thermowell designs. Use without a thermowell is permitted when using a fixed (welded) fitting.
A wide variety of possible combinations of sensor, connection head, insertion length, neck length, connection to thermowell etc. are available for the thermometers; suitable for almost any thermowell dimension.

Model TC10-A

The measuring inserts per DIN 43735 for resistance thermometers described here are designed for installation in a protective fitting. Operation without thermowell is only recommended in certain applications. The measuring insert is made of a bendable mineral-insulated sheathed cable. The thermocouple is located at the tip of the measuring insert. The measuring inserts are delivered with pressure springs to ensure that the measuring inserts are pressed down to the thermowell bottom.

Temperature transmitters

High-quality temperature transmitters from WIKA
Temperature transmitters convert the input signal from a wide range of sensors, such as resistance sensors and thermocouples, but in some cases also from potentiometers, into a standardised output signal (e.g. 0 … 10 V or 4 … 20 mA). With digital temperature transmitters, the sensor type and the measuring span can be freely configured, along with many further options such as the error signalisation or a measuring location identification.

Model T15

These temperature transmitters are designed for universal use in plant and machine building, and also in the process industry. They offer high accuracy and excellent protection against electromagnetic influences (EMI). Via the WIKAsoft-TT configuration software and the model PU-548 programming unit, the model T15 temperature transmitters can be parameterised very easily, quickly and with a clear overview.

Temperature switches

For each application the right temperature switch
Temperature switches are used in a variety of industrial and technical processes. If a preset temperature is reached, then the temperature switch opens or closes a corresponding switch contact. Depending on the requirements, mechanical or electronic switches can be used. In addition to electronic temperature switches and bimetal temperature switches, WIKA’s wide range also includes air velocity meters and frost protection thermostats.

Model TFS35

Temperature switches are generally used in industry for limiting temperature. They monitor the temperature of machinery and equipment and, for example, switch off machinery if it overheats or switch on a fan to cool the equipment.

Thermometers with switch contacts

Display and monitor limit values
Wherever the process temperature has to be indicated locally and, at the same time, limit values must be monitored, thermometers with switch contacts find their application. The switch contacts make or break the circuit dependent upon the pointer position of the indicating measuring instrument. If the reading is significantly above or below a set value, they trigger an alarm, hence also the term “alarm contact”. The instruments are also suitable for starting, stopping or switching processes.

Model TGS55

Wherever the process temperature has to be indicated on-site and, at the same time, circuits need to be switched, the bimetal thermometer with switch contacts finds its use. Switch contacts (electrical alarm contacts) make or break circuits dependent upon the pointer position of the indicating measuring instrument. The switch contacts are adjustable over the full measuring range. The instrument pointer (actual value pointer) moves freely across the entire scale range, independent of the setting. The set pointer can be adjusted via the window using a removable adjustment key (mounted on the terminal box).

Model 70-8xx

Thermometers of this product range find their application whenever a local temperature display is needed at the same time as switching an electric circuit.

Expansion thermometers can be installed or mounted in almost any location. Versions with capillaries are used in locations which are not easily accessible and where long distances have to be bridged. They can therefore be used universally, e.g. in machine building, refrigeration and air-conditioning applications or other industrial applications.

Temperature controllers

Temperature controllers with the latest technology
The compact temperature controllers from WIKA offer display, control and monitoring of temperatures. The configuration of the sensor input is made via the multi-function input. Resistance thermometers, thermocouples and standard industrial signals, such as 4 … 20 mA, serve as the input variable of a temperature controller. The monitoring output can be set either as relay (for slow control), as logic level for the control of electronic solid-state relays (for fast control and high current loads) or as a continuous 4 … 20 mA output.

Models CS6S, CS6H, CS6L

The compact PID temperature controllers of the CS6x series offer display, control and monitoring of temperatures.

The PID temperature controllers feature a multi-function input for resistance thermometers, thermocouples and standard signals, meaning the configuration of the sensor input can be set. Thus the flexibility of the controller is considerably increased, and warehousing is made easier. An alarm output for monitoring the actual value is also available as standard.

Thermowells / protection tubes

For each measuring location requirement the optimum thermowell or protection tube
Thermowells or protection tubes from WIKA are used with demanding operating conditions both in solid-machined versions from bar stock material and in fabricated versions with tubular design. The variants offered differ mainly in their designs; with flanges, threaded or for welding in. The connection of the protection tubes by flange is universal and is used in many processes. The compact form of the threaded connection saves space and mounting is also very easy. If the process safety and robustness is important, the thermowells can be welded into the process directly. Furthermore, all connections for sanitary applications and also thermowells in Vanstone design are available without weld seams. The selection of materials and the manufacturing of the thermowells or protection tubes in accordance with global standards or to customer specifications ensure optimal protection for the sensor.

Model TW10

Each thermowell/protection tube is an important component of any temperature measuring point. It is used to separate the process from the surrounding area, thus protecting the environment and operating personnel and keeps aggressive media, high pressures and flow rates from the temperature sensor itself and thereby enables the thermometer to be exchanged during operation.

Multipoint thermometers

WIKA multipoint thermometers: worldwide leaders in temperature measurement
Multipoint thermometers are used in various applications in the refining and petrochemical industry. WIKA is a world leader in flexible multipoint sensor thermometry and the preferred solution of many major companies and licensors. Our advanced multipoint solutions, including FLEX-R® and FLEX-O®, are recognised as leading technologies in the industry. Additional multipoint products for global market requirements include traditional multipoint designs such as pipewells, T-bar, spring-loaded, bimetallic spring, and heat transfer block. Innovative mini-multipoint solutions where point density and thermocouple size matter include both stuffed and drawn assemblies to solve challenging applications.

Models TR96-O, TC96-O

Multipoint thermometers are often used for measuring temperature profiles in reactors or fuel depots or for the detection of the so-called “hotspots”.

To achieve rapid response times, the individual measuring points are pressed by pressure springs to the internal side of the pipewell which forms a single entity with the thermometer or which can ideally be an already existing component of the reactor. Connection terminals or temperature transmitters are placed in the connection housing which is either a component of the multipoint thermometer or can be mounted separately, e.g. on a wall or pipeline.

The so-called multipoint thermocouple T-Bar design is common for certain vessel designs. In this design, several exchangeable thermocouples are linearly arranged in a T-Bar/pipe design.
